2026年5月11日下午15时,柬埔寨首相洪玛奈在金边和平大厦会见了联合国教科文组织驻柬代表弗拉维奥·博内蒂(Flavio Bonetti)及其代表团。

**UNESCO Representative to Cambodia Commit to Further Strengthening and Expanding Partnership with Cambodia**
On the afternoon of 11 May 2026, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from Mr Flavio Bonetti, UNESCO Representative to Cambodia, and his delegation at the Peace Palace.
During the meeting, Mr Flavio Bonetti expressed his deep gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia for the consistent support for UNESCO, which has contributed to many notable achievements over the years. He highly valued the excellent cooperation between the Royal Government and UNESCO in preserving cultural heritage and developing the education sector in Cambodia. Mr Flavio Bonetti affirmed UNESCO’s commitment to further strengthening and expanding partnership with the Royal Government. In addition, he informed Samdech Thipadei of UNESCO’s contributions in providing technical experts and mobilising international funding to support the management and conservation of cultural heritage in Cambodia, which remains a top priority for the organisation. Furthermore, Mr Flavio Bonetti underscored UNESCO’s long-standing partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, particularly in the development of education policies and the enhancement of teacher quality and curricula to contribute to human capital development in Cambodia, in line with the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy – Phase 1.
In response, Samdech Thipadei spoke highly of the excellent cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia and UNESCO, which has significantly contributed to Cambodia’s socio-economic development. He highlighted that the preservation of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage is not only vital for the Cambodian people and younger generations, but also holds immense value for humanity as a whole. Samdech Thipadei added that cultural heritage conservation remains a key priority for Cambodia. Through the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the Royal Government is actively accelerating the preparation of documentation to nominate additional Cambodian cultural assets for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Before concluding, Samdech Thipadei encouraged UNESCO to continue strengthening relations and expanding close cooperation with relevant ministries and institutions of the Royal Government in order to further reinforce a robust partnership for the mutual benefit of the Cambodian people and humanity as a whole.
