In recent times, there have been more scrutiny on the banking industry in Cambodia.  Four banks have been sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury / Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and they comprise the five bank that are liquidated. We currently have another bank that is under external administrator and another bank that is being closely monitored on their liquidity situation. The Regulators have done a good job in being forefront on the rationale behind these closures; and reassuring the public on the health of the banking industry.   With all the good works done and (also) good intentions, we have to still be mindful that it is often the weakest link that breaks the chain. In any business; including banking, there is no “special playbook or recipe” that guarantees us success.  However, as a banker for over three decades I have observed that there are certain essential / core values and key success factors which when applied collectively; there is a higher probability of success and of us thriving (rather than striving). “Ten Commandments
