Phnom Penh: Elevating construction quality, structural resilience, and public safety across Cambodia has reached a crucial technical milestone as authorities move to standardize national building codes. On September 25, 2026, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and Permanent Vice-Chairman of the National Committee for Promoting the Implementation of Building Technical Standards, Theng Chansangvar, chaired a consultative meeting to review, adjust, and gather expert input on a draft proclamation regarding the implementation of 13 Cambodian Standards covering structural components and geotechnical engineering.
The technical session convened senior Ministry officials and specialized engineering experts. Deliberations focused on finalizing the draft framework while establishing structural mechanisms for Nationally Determined Parameters (NDPs) to be integrated as National Annexes into the building code for structural components.
