𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐚’𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. 🔬📚
Our recent publication on 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐚 highlights key challenges, including limited training opportunities, resource gaps, and heavy reliance on project-based workshops.
Based on interviews with stakeholders and teachers across six provinces, and a survey of 401 teachers from 60 schools, the study raises important questions about sustainability, equity, and the practical relevance of CPD for classroom application.
The research offers insights and policy considerations to strengthen teacher development and advance STEM education in Cambodia.
