No Slowdown in Anti-Scam Drive, Cambodia’s PM Says
PHNOM PENH, April 23, 2026 — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has ordered authorities to continue cracking down on online scam operations without pause, rejecting speculation that enforcement efforts would ease after the Khmer New Year holiday.
In a statement released after a full Cabinet meeting on Thursday, Hun Manet instructed law enforcement agencies and all relevant security forces to maintain pressure on cyber fraud networks and strictly enforce existing laws.
“The law already exists and must be implemented rigorously and effectively, without leniency or exception,” the statement quoted him as saying.
