It has been reported that between 31 March and 2 April 2026, Thai Burapha forces led a group of Thai citizens to conduct land-ownership verification activities along the border segment. Furthermore, on 2 April 2026, Thai military personnel, accompanied by two armored vehicles, were deployed at O Smach International Border Gate and laid additional barbed wires and heavy machinery to conduct land-clearing activities near the Boundary Pillar No. 2 (Present) in Anlong Veng District, Oddar Meanchey Province. These activities cannot be regarded as defensive in nature, nor can they be considered in compliance with the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special General Border Committee (GBC). They clearly contravene Thailand's commitments and obligations under other existing agreements as well.
