2026年6月2日,柬埔寨与印度跨境UPI/QR支付系统在金边正式启动。柬埔寨旅游部部长胡哈(Huot Hak)出席启动仪式并发表致辞,印度驻柬埔寨大使万拉瓦纳(Vanlalvawna Bawitlung)及两国政府官员、银行与私营部门代表共同参加活动。
该支付系统由柬埔寨国家银行与印度相关机构合作开发,旨在通过数字化金融手段实现两国金融互联。印度游客在柬埔寨境内可直接使用UPI/QR扫码支付,无需兑换现金,交易过程更加安全、高效。
胡哈部长表示,该举措符合柬埔寨政府推动数字经济转型及旅游业发展的战略目标。此举不仅能提升印度游客的支付便利性,还将促进两国在旅游、商业及人员往来方面的深度合作。随着支付系统的落地,预计将进一步吸引印度游客赴柬参与瑜伽及宗教旅游活动,助力柬埔寨旅游业在“绿色季节”实现增长。

H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism: The Cambodia–India Cross-Border QR Payment System Provides Greater Convenience and Additional Appeal for Indian Tourists and Citizens to Visit Cambodia, Especially During the Green Season and the Major International Yoga Events Taking Place in Cambodia This June
H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, delivered congratulatory remarks at the official launch ceremony of the Cambodia–India cross-border UPI/QR payment system, organized by the Embassy of India in Cambodia.
The event was attended by H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Kingdom of Cambodia, along with senior leaders and officials from ministries and government institutions, executives from the banking and private sectors, and numerous distinguished guests.
On this important occasion, H.E. the Minister highly commended the Embassy of India, the National Bank of Cambodia, and relevant institutions from both countries for their close cooperation in achieving this significant milestone. He emphasized that the cross-border digital payment linkage represents not only technological progress but also serves as a bridge connecting people, businesses, and tourists between the two nations, enabling more convenient, secure, and efficient financial transactions.
H.E. the Minister also praised this initiative for aligning with the vision of the Royal Government of Cambodia under the wise leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to promote digital transformation and develop the tourism sector into a modern, resilient, and competitive industry. Tourism has been recognized as “Green Gold” by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State and President of the Senate.
Furthermore, H.E. the Minister expressed strong support for the implementation of the Cambodia–India cross-border UPI/QR payment system, noting that it will facilitate travel, support tourism businesses, promote a connected and inclusive digital economy, and further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the governments and peoples of both countries. In addition, the system is expected to enhance the travel experience of Indian tourists and citizens while creating new opportunities to expand tourism cooperation between Cambodia and India through increased tourist arrivals, improved air connectivity, the promotion of religious and wellness tourism, and strengthened collaboration between the tourism sectors of the two countries.
According to H.E. the Minister, Cambodia welcomed approximately 22,000 Indian visitors during the first quarter of 2026, and this number is expected to continue growing through enhanced connectivity, travel facilitation measures, and the implementation of innovative initiatives that improve convenience and visitor experiences, particularly in connection with the International Yoga Day celebrations and related events to be held in Cambodia.
