**At UN, Trump Quotes Hun Manet’s Praise for Border Ceasefire Role
US President Donald Trump recalled remarks by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet praising his role in helping resolve the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict in 2025.
In his speech to the UN General Assembly on September 22, Trump quoted Hun Manet as describing his “extraordinary statesmanship” as being marked by a commitment to resolving conflicts and preventing catastrophic wars through “visionary, innovative diplomacy.”
Trump said Hun Manet’s remarks referred most recently to his “decisive role” in brokering an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and peace.
