Cambodia has lodged a protest against the placement of a Buddha statue by the Thai authority and monks in Oddar Meanchey province.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Sept. 22 reported that Thailand had placed the statue on Cambodian sovereign territory in Phnom Beng area of Anlong Veng district, between boundary pillars 2 and 3.
