**Cambodia and Thailand Wrap Up First Day of Second Round of Maritime Conciliation Talks
PHNOM PENH—Cambodia and Thailand have concluded the first day of the second conciliation meeting under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), scheduled for Oct. 14-18 in The Hague, the Netherlands.
The talks follow the first conciliation meeting in Singapore, which concluded on Sept. 16. The second session enables both parties to examine options for advancing and pinpoint areas of consensus regarding maritime boundary delimitation.
Cambodia aims to achieve a resolution that benefits the populations of both countries, fostering peace, cooperation, and shared prosperity in the region.
According to The Thai PBS World, Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow said the discussions are preliminary and will focus on reviewing each side's legal arguments and supporting documents, without reaching substantive decisions at this stage.
