柬埔寨与俄罗斯深化双边合作 推动签署自贸协定

Cambodia and Russia Commit to Further Strengthening and Expanding Bilateral Cooperation   On the evening of 18 June 2026, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, on the sidelines of the Commemorative Summit marking the 35th Anniversary of ASEAN-Russia Relations, held in Kazan, Russian Federation, from 17–18 June 2026.   During the meeting, the Russian President described Cambodia as a long-standing friend and partner of Russia. Noting that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, he welcomed the various joint activities organized to commemorate this historic milestone. The President also highly appreciated the steady progress in bilateral relations and reaffirmed that Russia attaches great importance to further advancing cooperation with Cambodia.   In response, Samdech Thipadei underscored that, over the past seven decades, Cambodia has consistently attached great importance to its traditional friendship and enduring cooperation with Russia, founded on political trust, mutual respect and support, and shared interests. Samdech Thipadei also expressed gratitude to the former Soviet Union for the assistance and support extended to Cambodia during its difficult times and thanked the Russian Federation for its continued contributions to Cambodia's socio-economic development. Furthermore, Samdech Thipadei expressed satisfaction with the progress of bilateral relations across various sectors and reaffirmed Cambodia's commitment to further strengthening and expanding cooperation between the two countries.   The two leaders also exchanged views on a number of priorities and initiatives aimed at further enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in the fields of politics, trade and investment, energy, agriculture, security and defence, as well as people-to-people connectivity, particularly in education and training, healthcare, tourism, and culture. They emphasized the importance of maintaining high-level exchanges and regular communication through legislative, executive, and political party frameworks. On that occasion, Samdech Thipadei also requested the Russian President's support for Cambodia's proposal to establish a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Cambodia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
