King recovering well from cancer surgery
The Royal Palace announced this morning, April 27, that His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni’s health has improved following major surgery in Beijing.
The palace said His Majesty is receiving close medical care from specialised Chinese doctors and “has shown slight improvement”. Earlier this month, the King announced that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Doctors have advised him to remain in hospital for continued monitoring and recovery.
The King and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk expressed their thanks to religious leaders, officials and citizens nationwide for their prayers and well-wishes.
