**Khmer New Year’s Traditions and Warmth Attract Foreigners PHNOM PENH – Eric Labrecque who is from Quebec City in Canada chose to visit Cambodia specifically to discover the Khmer New Year traditions. After looking at travel destinations on a map, he read about Cambodia, its long history and rich culture, and the unique moments visitors experience during their time in the country, Labrecque said. Since his arrival, he has spent five days visiting Siem Reap province and observing the lively community activities, he said. He is currently in Phnom Penh and plans to go to Koh Kong province in the coming days. Even though he has only been in the country a short time, Labrecque says that everyone should visit Cambodia at least once in their lifetime.
