On the morning of May 22, 2026, at 10:40 AM, the Thai Army Spokesperson Team reported that five gunshots were heard in the Phnom Bak area of Samraong City, Oddar Meanchey Province, accusing Cambodian forces of instigating the incident.
The Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia categorically rejects this report, declaring it false and misleading information fabricated to incite confusion, mislead public opinion, and escalate tensions along the border.
