标题: Digital Twin Propels World’s Largest Next-Gen Geothermal Project to Record-Breaking Efficiency
US firm Fervo Energy has successfully deployed advanced 3D subsurface modeling technology to unlock the full potential of the world’s largest next-generation geothermal development.
The Cape Station project, located in Beaver County, Utah, is currently redefining the boundaries of clean energy production by leveraging Bentley Systems’ specialized software suite to navigate complex geological formations with unprecedented precision.
The firm used integration of Bentley’s Leapfrog Energy, Oasis montaj, and Seequent Central for this project.
First, by utilizing Leapfrog Energy, the team successfully integrated diverse datasets to visualize the subterranean environment before a single drill bit touched the ground. This predictive capability proved essential as the project required drilling through over 105,000 feet of notoriously challenging granitic basement rock.
Meanwhile, by leveraging Oasis montaj and Leapfrog, the team was able to generate detailed 3D subsurface characterization models to meet the requirements for an optimally designed power plant.
Lastly, Seequent Central provided a centralized environment that enabled real-time tracking and management of massive geoscientific datasets, ensuring that all stakeholders remained aligned throughout the drilling process.
This level of digital oversight allowed for remarkably accurate temperature and geologic predictions, whi
