[**A Center on Cambodia’s Recent History to Be Open in Stung Treng City**](https://cambodianess.com/article/a-center-on-cambodias-recent-history-to-be-open-in-stung-treng-city)** During the 1950s and 1960s, King Norodom Sihanouk established residences in several provinces in Cambodia. Not only this enabled him to stay at his own homes whenever he toured these regions, but the royal quarters would create links with people, showing his presence in their community and the possibility that he would soon visit. These dwellings would be abandoned during the civil war and Khmer Rouge regime of the 1970s.
