ACLEDA Bank Plc., the first commercial bank in Cambodia to issue securities to the public, announced that it held an awards ceremony for its Gen Z Mobile App Development Competition at ACLEDA University of Business (AUB).
Senior leaders and members of ACLEDA Bank’s technical team presided over the ceremony. AUB management, faculty and students attended, along with staff from both institutions.
The competition aims to give Cambodian students at AUB practical training in digital and intelligent technologies. ACLEDA Bank committed funding, technology, equipment and technical expertise to run the competition and help students turn their ideas into working mobile apps.
A total of 86 students across 16 teams registered for the competition. After an initial review, the judging panel selected 14 teams comprising 73 students to continue. Six teams received awards for developing apps that demonstrated creativity and addressed current market needs.
ACLEDA Bank said the support provided by its technical team gave students hands-on experience and contributed to the development of Cambodia’s digital technology sector in line with the government’s digital economy strategy.
