Mount Rainier, Washington - Despite the cold condition, Mao Leakhena continues to perform Kun Lbokator martial art at Mount Rainier National Park, a symbol of Washington state. Trained for many years in the art of fighting, Leakhena was also a recipient of a gold medal during the 2023 Southeast Asian Games.
In a trip conducted to highlight Khmer traditional martial arts among Cambodian-American communities, Leakhena has demonstrated her skill as part of the Khmer New Year celebration season in addition to a number of other activities.
Headed by grandmaster Seng Bunsong, a senior advisor to the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, the trip is made possible through the collaboration of Asia Pacific Cultural Center, Kun Lbokator Federation, and the Cambodian-American community in Washington state.
