Cambodia Stands Ready to Share “Khmer Smiles, Francophone Smiles” with the World Through the 2026 “Village de la Francophonie” Side Event H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, presided over and delivered remarks at a workshop on preparations for the “Village de la Francophonie” side event at the Ministry of Tourism. The workshop was attended by H.E. Dr. ING Kantha Phavi, Minister of Women’s Affairs and Chair of Subcommittee 5; H.E. EAT Sophea, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Head of the Secretariat of the National Commission; as well as leaders of ministries and institutions, private sector representatives, development partners, relevant organizations, and distinguished guests. In his remarks, H.E. the Minister emphasized that the Kingdom of Cambodia is deeply honored to host the 20th Francophonie Summit. This major international gathering offers an opportunity to showcase Cambodia’s national identity, culture, tourism, cuisine, creativity, and potential. Under the theme “Khmer Smiles, Francophone Smiles,” the Village will highlight the warmth, friendliness, and cultural identity of the Cambodian people. It will also provide a platform for cultural exchange and for presenting Cambodian tourism, cuisine, and the creativity of its youth and entrepreneurs to the approximately 90 members of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) and visitors from around the world. H.E. The Minister further noted that, in accordance with the guidance of Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, all booths and exhibition spaces at the Village de la Francophonie will be provided free of charge. This will enable ministries and institutions, the private sector, small and medium sized enterprises, artists, producers, and development partners to showcase Cambodia’s achievements, tourism potential, products, culture, and investment opportunities on an international stage. He called on all ministries and institutions, tourism industry associations, businesses, hotels, restaurants, resorts, artists, producers, and educational institutions to take an active part in the exhibitions and activities. Their participation will help promote Cambodia’s culture, tourism, products, and investment potential to French speaking markets and the wider world, while presenting a shared image of national pride as Cambodia hosts this prestigious international event. All booths and exhibition spaces at the Village de la Francophonie will be provided free of charge, opening the event to ministries and institutions, the private sector, small and medium sized enterprises, artists, producers, and development partners.
