Foreign military attachés tour border zone
Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence on Tuesday guided several foreign military attachés on a tour of the provinces along the Cambodia–Thailand border, in a move seen as reinforcing transparency following the implementation of a ceasefire between the two countries. According to ministry spokesperson Maly Socheata, the visit began at 6am this morning and involved members of the Military Attachés Corps in Phnom Penh (MACPP).
The delegation was taken to several border areas.
The ministry stressed that Cambodia remains committed to resolving disputes through peaceful means, in line with international law, as well as the principles of the UN Charter and ASEAN Charter.
“Cambodia firmly opposes the threat or use of force and seeks a just, impartial and lasting solution,” the statement said, adding that such efforts aim to ensure long-term peace, stability and development for people in both nations.
