旅游部部长会见26名留学生 鼓励推广柬埔寨旅游形象

Every student is a goodwill ambassador in promoting Cambodia’s tourism potential, culture, development, and the true situation of Cambodia as a safe and welcoming tourist destination. Phnom Penh Capital: H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, presided over a meeting and congratulatory gathering with the scholarship recipients who will continue their studies in Japan, France, Germany, and the Czech Republic, totaling 26 recipients. H.E. the Minister warmly welcomed the scholarship recipients and expressed his appreciation and congratulations, as well as his high recognition of the abilities and efforts of all the successful candidates. Their success is a shared source of pride for themselves, their families, institutions, and the entire nation. After allowing student representatives to share their thoughts and commitments, H.E. the Minister delivered remarks and emphasized the roles and responsibilities of young people toward the nation while pursuing their studies abroad. In addition to their studies, every Cambodian citizen or student is a goodwill ambassador representing Cambodia in showcasing the culture, heritage, traditions and customs, tourism destinations, and the true social, economic, and political situation of Cambodia to the people of the country where they live and study, as well as to friends from other countries around the world, so that they can better understand Cambodia. In particular, he called on them to join in combating fake news that distorts and damages the image of Cambodia and the proper and wise leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. At the same time, H.E. the Minister recalled the Khmer proverb, “At home, mothers may be different; in the forest, there is only one mother,” emphasizing that if the students encounter any problems or have any requests while abroad, they should contact the Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia in the country where they are living and studying. H.E. the Minister also encouraged the students to participate actively and regularly in programs organized by the Embassies of the Kingdom of Cambodia in the countries where they reside and study. In addition, H.E. the Minister further emphasized that once all the students successfully complete their studies, they should bring back the knowledge and valuable experiences gained abroad and share them with the younger generation in order to contribute to the development of the nation together with the Royal Government, according to their respective fields of expertise. As a token of appreciation, before concluding the meeting, H.E. the Minister presented commemorative gifts to all the students, with each student receiving: a krama, an Eco Bag from the Ministry of Tourism, a USB containing videos of beautiful and high-potential tourism destinations, and five books (The Influential Firstborn Son, Young Strategists in Asia, Three Mechanisms for Winning Against COVID-19, English Handbook, and Guidebooks to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, the Northeast, and the Coastal Areas). These books will serve as important guides for the students to draw upon as life experiences and as a foundation for guiding their future along the career paths they have chosen. In conclusion, H.E. the Minister extended his best wishes to all the scholarship recipients and their families, wishing them good health, happiness, and success in all their duties and in their studies abroad in the future.
