Our Scientist and Director of CDRI’s Environmental Centre, Dr MAK Sithirith, has just published a new working paper examining community-based water management in Cambodia.
The study provides a comparative analysis of Farmer Water User Communities (FWUCs) and the indigenous Metuk system in the Tonle Sap floodplain. Drawing on qualitative case studies from Kakaoh Commune (Kampong Thom Province) and Santey Village (Siem Reap Province), the paper explores governance design, legitimacy, ecological fit, financing, equity, and resilience to external changes.
