🌟 **Malaysia Welcomes 48,000+ Cambodian Visitors in First Half of 2026 as Tourism Cooperation Expands** ———————————— Malaysia welcomed 48,028 visitors from Cambodia during the first half of 2026, a 52.3% increase from the 31,525 visitors recorded during the same period last year. Tourism agents and operators from both countries met in Phnom Penh on September 29 to explore new travel packages, joint promotions and opportunities to further expand two-way tourism. Mr. Baizuri Baharum, Tourism Malaysia’s Director of International Promotion for Southeast Asia, said the strong growth highlighted the increasing potential of the Cambodian market. She pointed to 51 weekly flights offering 8,854 seats between the two countries as an important foundation for further growth and invited members of the Cambodia Tourism Association (CATA) to incorporate Malaysian destinations into upcoming travel packages. Tourism Malaysia also expressed its readiness to support familiarisation programmes, joint marketing campaigns and business meetings with Cambodian tourism operators. CATA President Chhay Sivlin highlighted medical and healthcare tourism as another area with significant potential, noting that more Cambodians are travelling to Malaysia for medical services.
