**Banteay Meanchey’s “Waiting Village” Welcomes Government Delegations BANTEAY MEANCHEY - Constructed in large-scale to house the displaced Cambodian civilians who are unable to return home after the 2025 Cambodia-Thailand border conflicts, the “Waiting Village” of Banteay Meanchey welcomes government delegations on Sep. 12. The humanitarian event is headed by President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, Hun Many. Sport activities, martial art performances and traditional dances will also be held during the event. Located approximately 10 kilometers from the border with Thailand, the site houses thousands of families who remain unable to return to their homes as Thai forces continue to occupy parts of Cambodian territory along the border following clashes last year. The government has constructed thousands of identical temporary houses across Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey and Preah Vihear provinces. Each house measures 5x7 meters with a land area of 20x30 meters.
