Dans un climat de discussions franches et cordiales, les échanges ont porté sur l’état d’avancement des préparatifs du 20ᵉ Sommet de la Francophonie, prévu à Phnom Penh. Les deux parties ont également exploré les possibilités de coopération et examiné les mécanismes techniques nécessaires afin d’assurer le succès de cet événement majeur. Cette rencontre a réaffirmé la volonté commune du Royaume du Cambodge et du Canada de renforcer leurs relations bilatérales et de contribuer activement au rayonnement de la Francophonie. On 8 April 2026, His Excellency SUN Sovanna, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received His Excellency Mr. Christian DesRoches, Ambassador of Canada to the Kingdom of Cambodia. In an atmosphere of frank and cordial discussions, the two sides reviewed the progress of preparations for the 20ᵗʰ Summit of La Francophonie, to be held in Phnom Penh. They also explored possible avenues of cooperation and examined technical mechanisms to ensure the success of this major international event. This meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Canada to strengthening their bilateral relations and actively contributing to the promotion of La Francophonie.
