H.E. Minister HUOT Hak: “Cambodia is a safe tourism destination with warm hospitality, and we cordially invite all Chinese and international friends to visit Cambodia with confidence and trust” Cambodia’s strong and clear message to over 50 countries from all continents With high and noble authorization from the Royal Government of Cambodia, a delegation from the Ministry of Tourism led by His Excellency HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, attended the tourism event “The 9th Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo” in Dunhuang City, Gansu Province, People’s Republic of China. His Excellency the Minister was invited to co-chair and deliver a keynote address at the opening ceremony of the 9th Silk Road International Cultural Expo in Dunhuang, Gansu, China. The event was attended by His Excellency Wu Xiaojun, Party Secretary of Gansu Province; Mr. Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); His Excellency Jiang Hui, Deputy Minister of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China; His Excellency Sun Weidong, Secretary-General of the China-Central Asia Mechanism; Mr. Shahbaz Khan, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in East Asia; along with delegations and distinguished national and international guests totaling over 400 participants from more than 50 countries across all continents. Speaking at this grand international tourism event, His Excellency the Minister expressed congratulations on the success of the previous eight editions of the expo and thanked the provincial administration of Gansu and the municipal administration of Dunhuang for organizing this important event, which aligns with the spirit of building a China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era. At the same time, His Excellency the Minister noted that Gansu Province is the core center of the ancient Silk Road, rich in cultural, tourist, and natural heritage, notably the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang. Meanwhile, Cambodia is home to Angkor Wat and numerous historical temples, all of which constitute treasures of human civilization. The initiative of “Dialogue between the Mogao Caves and Angkor Wat” has become a crucial focal point in promoting cultural and civilizational exchanges along the Silk Road, as well as strengthening tourism cooperation between the two countries, both of which share world heritage sites. His Excellency the Minister added that the 9th Silk Road International Cultural Expo serves as an important cultural tourism platform to promote people-to-people cooperation, tourism, cultural exchange, and mutual learning among all civilizations, with a particular focus on boosting cooperation in the tourism sector. During this major international tourism event, His Excellency the Minister emphasized that under the wise leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and continued by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, Cambodia is a safe tourism destination offering warm hospitality. It is fully prepared to warmly welcome all Chinese and international friends to visit Cambodia a place that guarantees every stay, tourism recreation, and business venture will proceed smoothly, providing a sense of safety and warmth reminiscent of returning to one’s homeland. It is worth noting that the friendly relations between Cambodia and China date back a long time, originating as early as the Funan period.
