Phnom Penh, March 16, 2026 — The Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT), in collaboration with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and supported by the Australian DFAT and the Ministry of Commerce (MOC), organized a National Validation Workshop on AI in Trade in Cambodia within the context of the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA). The event brought together representatives from ministries, academia, the private sector, startups, and development partners.
The full-day workshop validated recent research on AI in trade, including sectoral analysis of opportunities and challenges across priority sectors, while highlighting a GEDSI-focused approach for inclusive access. Participants engaged in discussions to finalize key recommendations and priority actions, ensuring Cambodia maximizes the benefits of AI and the DEFA.
