A 7.1 magnitude earthquake damaged several properties, homes, malls, and cultural sites in Kumamoto, Japan, last July 28. The earthquake disrupted power, the prefecture’s international airport, and suspended travel along train lines and roads. Several fires and explosions have also broken out in the province as a result, with one of the largest being at Aeon Mall Kumamoto.
