[Op-Ed] The UNCLOS mediation process on the maritime dispute between Cambodia and Thailand has entered a new phase with the appointment of Australian diplomat Katrina Cooper as Chair of the Mediation Committee. I believe it is inaccurate to refer to the compulsory conciliation mechanism as a “forced process”.
