Cambodia has reported concrete results in its fight against online scams. As of August 31, 2026, the relevant authorities had inspected 832 suspected sites, taken action against 663 sites, and dismantled 86 large-scale scam operations. At the same time, 446 cases involving 3,927 suspects had been referred to the courts, while more than US$300 million held in bank accounts linked to scam activities had been frozen.
These figures were presented by H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information, during a press conference on the results of the first day of the International Conference on Combating Online Scams (ICCOS 2026), held under the theme “Act Together towards Breaking the Chain and Eradication of Online Scams” on the afternoon of September 23, 2026.
