The Ministry of Tourism and TNAOT News to Sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tourism Cooperation to Promote Cambodia’s Tourism Potential and Investment Opportunities to the International Stage and China H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, received Ms. Han Li (Doris), General Director of TNAOT News, and her colleagues for a courtesy meeting and discussion on strengthening tourism cooperation and promoting Cambodia’s image to various countries, especially China. During this meeting, Ms. Han Li reported on TNAOT News’ past achievements in promoting Cambodia’s tourism, culture, and investment opportunities to Chinese and international audiences through its bilingual media platform (Khmer-Chinese) and numerous official social media channels in both Cambodia and China. As a media institution and producer of tourism documentaries and entertainment content, TNAOT News has actively promoted Cambodia’s tourism destinations. The company also reported on its participation in organizing numerous events to promote Cambodia’s tourism potential and investment opportunities and requested to sign an MoU with the Ministry of Tourism. In response, H.E. the Minister highly praised, appreciated, and expressed gratitude for the active contribution of TNAOT News in developing and promoting Cambodia’s tourism sector over the years. At the same time, H.E. the Minister also requested the media outlet to continue helping disseminate factual information about Cambodia, particularly regarding political stability, security, safety, and the government’s ongoing strict crackdown on online crimes. He further encouraged continued cooperation in widely promoting the trial visa exemption campaign for Chinese citizens to help boost the number of Chinese tourists visiting Cambodia during the green season, strengthen the confidence of Chinese tourists and investors in Cambodia, and promote Cambodia’s investment opportunities in order to attract more Chinese investors from various provinces and industrial zones in China, especially in the tourism sector. It should also be noted that in 2025, Cambodia welcomed approximately 5.57 million international tourists, including more than 1.2 million Chinese tourists, representing an increase of nearly 42% and ranking China as the second-largest source of international visitors to Cambodia. Meanwhile, during the first four months of 2026, Cambodia received more than 240,000 Chinese tourists, making China the top source market. It is also worth noting that the Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to grant a visa exemption for Chinese citizens, allowing stays of up to 14 days in Cambodia from June 15 to October 15, 2026, in order to attract more Chinese tourists during the green season.
