The development of Cambodia’s premier maritime gateway has reached a significant turning point, with construction of the first phase of the new deep-water container terminal at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port now nearly 65% complete. This progress update was a central focus of a high-level monthly review meeting held on March 31, 2026, where officials evaluated the ongoing implementation and safety standards of the massive infrastructure undertaking.
Presided over by His Excellency Lou Kim Chhun, Delegate of the Royal Government of Cambodia and Director General of the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, the session brought together technical leaders and project partners to ensure the development remains aligned with the nation’s aggressive economic roadmap. The first phase of the terminal is being executed through a collaboration between the renowned TOA Corporation and a consulting joint venture consisting of Nippon Koei and Oriental Consultant Global.
Once operational, the new facility will fundamentally alter the logistics landscape of Southeast Asia.
