Today, Cambodia sent an important message to the world regarding safety factors, tourism potential, and motorcycle technology that was achieved through a Cambodian native riding a locally-produced motorcycle across more than 30,000 kilometers, traveling from Phnom Penh to Milan, Italy, passing through over 14 countries H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, presided over and delivered the opening remarks at the official launch ceremony of the motorcycle expedition from the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Esposizione Internazionale delle Due Ruote (EICMA), the world's premier international motorcycle exhibition, which will be held from 5–8 November 2026 in Milan, Italy. The ceremony was attended by H.E. Huot Hai, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh Capital and representative of H.E. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh Capital, along with leaders of relevant ministries and institutions, representatives from the private sector, and numerous national and international distinguished guests at Chip Mong Mega Mall 271. On this occasion, H.E. The Minister highly commended the initiative of Calypso Motors and the support of Chip Mong Group for contributing to the promotion of Cambodia's tourism and investment potential to the international community. He emphasized that participation in EICMA 2026 is not only about introducing motorcycles assembled and manufactured in Cambodia to the global market, but also about showcasing Cambodia as the "Kingdom of Wonder – Feel the Warmth", while promoting the country's tourism opportunities and investment potential to the world. H.E. The Minister further underlined that this approximately 30,000-kilometer motorcycle expedition is far more than an adventurous journey. It is a national mission carrying an important message of peace, security, Cambodia's abundant tourism assets, and the capability, courage, and spirit of "Khmers Can Do It," combined with modern technology, to the international stage. Mr. Van Hakolin will serve as a goodwill ambassador, promoting Cambodia's culture, tourism potential, and the warm hospitality of its people, while highlighting Cambodia as a safe tourism destination and showcasing the country's Made in Cambodia automotive manufacturing capabilities to the world. H.E. The Minister also stressed that under the umbrella of peace and political stability, Cambodia has continued to maintain steady economic growth and development across all sectors. The Royal Government has identified tourism as "Green Gold" and a key economic pillar, recognizing its vital role in creating employment, generating income, and improving people's livelihoods, thereby contributing to Cambodia's vision of becoming a high-income country by 2050.
