**ASEAN Observer Team Visits Cambodia-Thailand Border Marker in Banteay Meanchey PHNOM PENH — The ASEAN Observer Team visited on August 4 Boundary Pillar No. 37, an agreed border marker located in Kdeb Thma Village, Kouk Romiet Commune, Thma Puok District, Banteay Meanchey Province, to conduct observation and reporting activities. According to the Ministry of National Defence, the team was led by the Head of Mission of the ASEAN Observer Team in Cambodia (AOT KH HOM) from the Philippines. The mission aims to provide the ASEAN Observer Team with a comprehensive, first-hand understanding of the situation along the border while demonstrating Cambodia's position on border issues. According to the ministry, Cambodia remains committed to resolving border issues peacefully through dialogue and bilateral mechanisms, in accordance with international law, existing bilateral agreements, and the mandate of the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC).
