Cambodia Investment Review
The United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has approved the deployment of US$100 million for Techo International Airport to support the expansion of Cambodia’s aviation infrastructure.
The agreement follows more than two years of comprehensive due diligence, including project feasibility, technical, operational, environmental and social impact assessments (ESIA). Consistent with standard practice, the transaction may be subject to additional steps prior to commitment and closing, including the congressional notification process.
The financing represents a significant endorsement of Techo International Airport and a recognition of OCIC, a local conglomerate and one of the largest infrastructure developers in Cambodia.
Infrastructure development and connectivity
This milestone builds on years of engagement by Canadia Group and OCIC with American institutions, including the U.S. Embassy, the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia and American companies such as General Electric, OTIS, Caterpillar, Ford, and Apple. Through business delegations, speaking engagements and dialogues, the group is working to support the country’s infrastructure development and connectivity.
