Forty-seven years after the catastrophic border crises of 1979, the survival and suffering of Cambodian refugees along the frontier remains an enduring testament to human vulnerability and resilience. Between June and November 1979, displaced civilians who had fled war, famine and terror inside Cambodia faced two separate, devastating episodes of military violence at the border.
