Highways England has transformed the way it manages England’s Strategic Road Network by using Bentley Systems’ AssetWise platform to power its cloud-based Network Occupancy Management System (NOMS).
The software gives engineers and asset managers a real-time view of road closures, maintenance activities, and infrastructure assets on a single digital map, making it easier to plan work, avoid scheduling conflicts, and respond quickly to unexpected events.
By replacing legacy systems with a centralized digital platform, AssetWise enables teams, local authorities, contractors, and emergency services to share information instantly, improving collaboration and decision-making. The software also tracks road closures in real time, automatically detects event clashes, and helps minimize traffic disruption while improving worker safety.
