Prime Minister Hun Manet has officially approved the National Bank of Cambodia to issue new banknote versions in denominations of 50,000 and 100,000 riels. Notably, the new notes will not replace the old ones; both versions will circulate concurrently and hold equal legal tender. Citizens currently holding the older 50,000 and 100,000 riel notes can continue to use them normally without any disruption.
