The visit comes as Cambodia prepares for graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status and seeks to attract greater foreign investment, diversify exports and strengthen its position within regional and global supply chains. Western is expected to meet senior Cambodian government officials, including H.E. Dr. Sok Siphana, representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), as part of efforts to advance bilateral economic cooperation and review progress made under the Cambodia-UK Joint Trade and Investment Forum (JTIF). The discussions are expected to focus on trade facilitation, regulatory reform, investment promotion and increasing Cambodian utilization of the United Kingdom’s Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS), which provides duty-free access to more than 99 percent of Cambodian exports entering the UK market.
