Christopher Anderson was sworn in as U.S. Ambassador to Cambodia on Wednesday, the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh said, ending a two-year vacancy in the post.
Anderson, an army veteran and former national security adviser to Senator Steve Daines, succeeds Patrick Murphy, who left the post in 2024. The ambassador has said he will focus on expanding trade and investment, strengthening security cooperation, and working with Cambodia to dismantle scam networks that steal billions of dollars from Americans and people around the world. The embassy did not say when he will arrive in Cambodia.
