On the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on 24 September 2026, His Excellency KAN Pharidh, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, attended the **Peacebuilding Commission (PBC) Ministerial Meeting**, held under the theme “**National Ownership in Practice: Strengthening Inclusive State Institutions through International Peacebuilding Support**”. The Meeting was chaired by the Kingdom of Morocco, in its capacity as the Chair of the Peacebuilding Committee.
In his statement, His Excellency KAN Pharidh underscored 3 key points:
1. National ownership, reconciliation and inclusive governance are indispensable foundations for lasting peace;
2. International peacebuilding support should be demand‐driven, nationally owned and aligned with national priorities; and
3. The Peacebuilding Commission should further harness the diverse experiences and comparative strengths of its members.
