Ministry of Tourism and ACLEDA Bank Sign MoU on e-Payment Services to Enhance Public Service Efficiency and Strengthen Cooperation in Support of Cambodia’s Tourism Sector H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, presided over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Tourism, represented by H.E. SONG Tonghap, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism, and ACLEDA Bank Plc., represented by Dr. IN Channy, President & Group Managing Director, on the use of ACLEDA Bank’s services for the collection of public service fees through an electronic payment (e-Payment) system. The MoU aims to enhance the efficiency, convenience, and modernization of the Ministry of Tourism’s public service delivery through the adoption of digital payment solutions. It also seeks to strengthen the partnership between the public and private sectors, contributing to Cambodia’s digital transformation while supporting the sustainable development of the country’s tourism industry. This cooperation builds upon the first meeting between the Ministry of Tourism and ACLEDA Bank held on 26 March 2025, marking another important milestone in expanding the strategic partnership between the two institutions and enhancing collaboration across broader areas. On the occasion, H.E. the Minister commended ACLEDA Bank for its significant achievements and longstanding contributions to the development of Cambodia’s financial sector and the improvement of people’s livelihoods. He also acknowledged the Bank’s continued support for the tourism sector through digital solutions, the promotion of Cambodia’s tourism potential, and its sponsorship of major tourism events, including the River Festival, the Sea Festival, and other tourism promotion activities. H.E. the Minister emphasized: “The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding is not the conclusion of our cooperation, but rather an important new beginning. It will further strengthen and expand the partnership between the Ministry of Tourism and ACLEDA Bank by leveraging technology and the strengths of the private sector to promote a more resilient, competitive, and sustainable tourism industry in Cambodia.” Furthermore, H.E. the Minister encouraged ACLEDA Bank to continue supporting major national and international events that Cambodia will host in the coming months, particularly the 20th Francophonie Summit and the Francophonie Village. These events will serve as an important platform to promote Cambodia as an attractive, safe, and welcoming tourism destination while showcasing the country’s tourism potential, rich cultural heritage, traditional cuisine, Khmer products, and national identity to the international community.
