The APSARA National Authority has highlighted a rare carving of "preta," or hungry ghosts, on a gateway at Ta Nei temple in Angkor, days before Pchum Ben.
APSARA presented the carving on the afternoon of October 8. It sits on the pediment above the eastern gateway of Ta Nei, and the authority said it may be the only one of its kind and among the oldest such carvings in Khmer art to survive to the present day.
