**The ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), led by the Head of Mission (HOM AOT) from the Philippines, visited Rong Jam village in Slor Kram commune, Svay Chek district, Banteay Meanchey province, on June 16 as part of its observation and verification mission, according to the Ministry of National Defence. The team observed displaced civilians who have not yet been able to return to their homes due to the occupation of Cambodian territory by Thai military forces in certain areas. This occupation includes the installation of barbed wire and shipping containers, as well as the destruction of civilian homes. The ministry added that AOT's visit highlighted the plight of displaced residents and underscored the urgent need for the Cambodia–Thailand Joint Border Commission (JBC) to begin border demarcation work as soon as possible.
