Kampot Court Sentences Six Chinese Nationals to Life in Prison for Torture-Murder of South Korean National
AKP Phnom Penh, May 27, 2026 —
The Kampot Provincial Court has sentenced six Chinese nationals to life imprisonment following their conviction for the torture, extortion, and murder of a South Korean national last year, according to an official court announcement released Wednesday.
The court document, dated May 27, 2026, identified the victim as Park Minho, a South Korean national.
The six convicted individuals, all Chinese citizens, were identified by the court as: Li Xingpeng (also known as You Fu), 39; Liu Haoxing (also known as Ta Thov), 40; Zhu Renzhe (also known as Jaki), 40; Yin Songwan, 39, Jin Tianlong (also known as Kim Cheol Lyeong), 45; and Li Guanghao (also known as Xiao Piao), 41.
According to the press release issued by the spokesperson of the Kampot Provincial Court, the trial concluded on May 6, 2026, culminating in the life sentences handed down under criminal case file No. 600-I dated Aug. 11, 2025.
The tribunal found the six men guilty of premeditated murder accompanied by torture, acts of cruelty, and extortion under aggravating circumstances.
The crimes took place on Aug. 8, 2025, at Room 173 of the Thansuor Bokor Resort, located in Kampot province’s Bokor Town.
The court ruled that the defendants' actions violated Articles 205, 377, and 380 (Paragraph 5) of the Cambodian Penal Code. In addition to the life sentences, the court ordered the confiscation of all exhibits and property connected to the crime.
