An inter-ministerial working group led by HE Sot Rasmei, Secretary of State and Chairman of the Procurement Committee at the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, conducted a comprehensive site inspection on August 3, 2026, to evaluate the completed civil works prior to official handover. The infrastructure initiative is designed to prevent riverbank erosion, safeguard public assets, and enhance long-term climate resilience for riverside communities. The newly completed infrastructure encompasses two distinct riverbank reinforcement projects engineered to withstand seasonal flooding and water velocity. In Kandal province, technical teams completed a 500-meter protective embankment along the Bassac River, located in Sangkat Prek Chrey, Sampov Poun city, Koh Thom district. In Kampong Cham province, construction teams finished a 465-meter bank protection barrier along Prek Koy, situated in Prek Koy village, Prek Koy commune, Kang Meas district.
