The Cambodian Liaison Group (CLG) of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led by Lieutenant General Phat Vibolsopheak, Deputy Director-General of the General Department of Policy and Foreign Affairs and Director of the International Relations Department, facilitated a field mission for the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), led by the Head of Mission (HOM AOT) under the Philippine Chairmanship. The objective was to observe, verify, and report on the border situation in the Boeung Trakuan area, located in Kok Romiet Commune, Thma Puok District, Banteay Meanchey Province. This area was subjected to incursions, the installation of barbed wire, and the illegal deployment of shipping containers by the Thai military—actions that continue to prevent numerous Cambodian families from returning to their homes.
