(Shanghai, China): On the morning of Thursday, 5 November 2026, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, His Excellency NAM Lynal, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce and High Representative of Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, attended the official opening ceremony of the "9th China International Import Expo (CIIE)". The event was presided over by His Excellency DING Xuexiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China; His Excellency Brice Oligui Nguema, President of the Transition of the Gabonese Republic; His Excellency Christian Stocker, Federal Chancellor of Austria; and His Excellency Alexander De Croo, former Prime Minister of Belgium. The ceremony also saw the participation of representatives from 162 participating countries and regions, alongside major international organizations such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), the International Trade Centre (ITC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Please be informed that this expo will be held from 5 to 10 November 2026, under the theme “New Era, Shared Future,” featuring participation from over 4,142 foreign exhibitors.
