This critical infrastructure initiative, located within the geographical heart of Serei Saophoan city, is poised to finalize its remaining works shortly, as announced by His Excellency Phorn Rim, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, on April 21, 2026. Developed under a concessional loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), this second phase of the environmental improvement project encompasses a comprehensive overhaul of the city’s liquid and solid waste management systems. The technical scope of the project includes the installation of 110.91 kilometers of wastewater drainage pipes and 6.88 kilometers of specialized stormwater drainage lines to mitigate urban flooding. Central to the facility is a newly constructed wastewater treatment plant with a processing capacity of 3,500 cubic meters per day, ensuring that effluent is safely treated before release.
