At Koh Pich City Hall, the US embassy hosted on July 1 an evening reception to mark the 250th anniversary of US independence, with more than 1,000 government officials, diplomats, business executives, and more joining the celebrations.
“What began as 13 small colonies grew into a nation whose innovation, economic strength and leadership have helped shape the modern world, and whose success stands as a testament to the enduring power of freedom and self-governance,” Aleks Zittle, US Chargé d’Affaires, said in her opening remarks at the event, which was presided over by the Deputy Prime Minister and minister in charge of the Council of Ministers as the Guest of Honoir.
Zittle also highlighted the UA-Cambodia bilateral relationship, including political and economic ties, defence and security cooperation, cultural heritage preservation, public diplomacy and educational exchanges, particularly the AmCam Exchange at Exchange Square Mall, which promotes academic and professional success.
